KOBE COLLECTION 2008 AUTUMN/WINTER

The Kobe collection(神戸コレクション） is a fashion show currently held in Kobe every year. It was hosted for the first time on August 31, 2002, and is often called KOUKORE (神コレ）for short.
The fashion shows held in Paris, Milan or New York are aimed at launching new work by fashion designers. They are targeted only at industry participants, buyers and journalists.
In contrast, the Kobe collections displayed are not just launches of new work by designers, but also come from multi-brand shops（セレクトショップ） and upcoming young designers.
Moreover, it is an event that also plays a role in distributors’ promotion of retail and advertisement of the beauty industry.
Women in their 20s and 30s gather for the Kobe collection. In addition to being broadcast, it is also promoted on a blog, a mobile site and around the Internet.
The Kobe Collection offers a place for young designers to launch clothing, or for periodic collaborative fashion shows by multiple manufacturers, mass media and distributors in which consumers also participate. However, this is just the beginning.
The apparel of Kobe is notable; its fashion style, as worn by young people living in the Hanshin area(阪神エリア）, often appears in magazines and is recognized as a particular type of fashion.
Part of what started Kobe’s reputation as a fashion city was the collection’s interlocking with Kobe Fashion Week in the autumn and winter of 2006.
A Shanghai public display(上海公演） was also held as the first overseas event in 2007.
